Recurring Pinoy Big Brother host Toni Gonzaga’s home in Taytay was not affected by the typhoon ‘Ondoy’. In order to reach out to the affected fellow Rizaleños Toni lead relief operation in her hometown.
The actress including her family organized their own relief operation. Being a former councilor of the place the actress mentioned that we don’t have to be in politics to help our fellow Filipinos. According the actress, everyone can help in their own special way.
Toni pointed out that the incident was nothing less an effect of our wrong doings to our environment. According to her, we should be aware that we must love and take good care of our nature and our country.
Typhoon ‘Ondoy’ (international name, Ketsana) devastated Metro Manila and other neighboring provinces. Celebrities including Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera helped victims through donating sums of money to their mother station’s foundation.
Marian Rivera allegedly donated P100, 000 to GMA Kapuso Foundation last September 27, 2009. On the other hand, Angel Locsin aside from roving the City to personally collect more aid donated P500, 000 to ABS-CBN Foundation.
Both Marian and Angel showed concern to the victims of typhoon ‘Ondoy’. They inspired other people including other celebrities to donate for the victims.
GMA Kapuso Foundation and ABS-CBN’s Sagip-Kapamilya and ABS-CBN Foundation both conducted a telethon to raise funds for the victims of the typhoon ‘Ondoy’. A lot of celebs volunteered to join the telethon
Some who attended the telethon of GMA were Lucy Torres-Gomez, Iza Calzado, Rhian Ramos, Isabel Oli, Michelle Madrigal, Mark Herras, Arnell Ignacio, Butch Francisco, Benjie Paras, Ynna Asistio and other starlets including Vivo Juano amd Princess. Kris Aquino who also pledged P50,000 to Kapuso Foudation led the telethon for ABS-CBN Foundation. Willie Revillame even added another million for the first 26 million they already raised as donations.
Both GMA Kauso Foundation and ABS-CBN Foundation are gaining positive response from millions of Filipinos around the nation. There are a lot of pledges in cash or in kind from our fellows. The telethon also accepts ‘pananawagan’ and calls for help and emergency.
