GMA-7 has created a new talent search, “Are You The Next Big Star?” that will be hosted by Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez and will premiere on May 16. This one is in exchange of the Kapuso network’s last singing search franchise Pinoy Idol, which will eventually be going back to TV5.
AYTNBS? has a different format where there will be a male and female grand winner, both winning P1 Million and an exclusive recording and management contract with GMA7. It will be co-hosted by Kempee De Leon and its Judges will be lined up with Danny Tan, Mon Faustino, Randy Santiago, Anne Quintos of The Company and Pops Fernandez.
Regine has always been spearheading singing contests for GMA Kapuso Network as a host and wants to stay that way and doesn’t want the pressure of being the judge herself. Though, sometimes judges do consult for her opinion, too. Contests like this pretty much reminds her of where she actually came from and how she emerged to be the big star right now.
So, would you like to follow on her footstep and not too afraid to fill in a really big shoe? Are You The Next Big Star? 😉
Manny Pacquiao announced a couple of days ago that he’ll be shifting media partners favoring ABS-CBN to air starting with upcoming Manny “Pacman” Paquiao Vs. Ricky Hatton, May 2nd match up. But, Manny is still under contract with Solar Sports regarding TV rights until 2011 that pave the way for a conflict.
Manny has reasoned that it was his personal decision and that no one has influenced him in anyway. Part of this was his previous sentiments against Solar Sports not paying him in full and at times delayed. Solar Sports took action by making a confrontation with Manny’s MP Promotions in LA.
After much talk between the two parties, Manny Pacquiao’s camp formally made a public apology due to public’s confusion and announced that the contract between MP Promotions and Solar Sports as his media partner is completely valid and binding until 2011. Therefore, the upcoming fight between Pacquiao and Hatton will still be aired by Solar Sports and in partnership, also with GMA Network.
Manny Pacquiao also want the public to know that he’s right now focusing his efforts practicing and preparing for his fight. He continually asks for everyone’s support and prayers.
Thanks to Glenn’s Blog for the last pic!
Geoff Eigenmann now shifts station from ABS-CBN to GMA Network. He just signed a 3-year exclusive contract and has now become a ‘100 percent Kapuso’ as he coined it.
Geoff supposedly has lots of offers from the Kapamilya Network. However, ABS-CBN right now has so many talents that eventually he’s bumped out of the scene.
The good thing about Geoff’s transfer is that he left the station in good faith without any hard feelings and no bridges to be burnt. Another good thing for him to miss is the friendship he has established with other Kapamilya stars.
He’s still finishing a horror film, “Estrella” with Maja Salvador, Shaina Magdayao and Jake Cuenca under Star Cinema.
But right now, Geoff’s proud and happy to be a Kapuso. Projects are on their way and the first will be SRO Cinemaserye, which is Obra before. Actually, he is also looking forward to have Heart Evangelista again as his leading lady (…who doesn’t want to? 😉 ).
JC De Vera just celebrated his 22nd birthday last night at Barrakz bar. It was a pretty happy moment for him that one of his presents is packaged with lots of projects for him as he stays with GMA Kapuso, finally.
JC De Vera is so much thankful that his career as an actor is taking off and that GMA 7 Kapuso has a big part of paving its way and creating his ‘name.’ JC and his manager Annabelle Rama met with Atty. Felipe Gozon and Annette Gozon Abrogar of GMA and settled past misunderstandings and agreed that JC will stay as Kapuso. They also talked about one of his upcoming sinenovela ‘Ngayon At Kailanman’ with Heart Evangelista.
It was hell of a party, dancing all night with friends like Iya Villania, Raymond Gutierrez, Paolo Paraiso, Bubbles Paraiso and Heart Evangelista. But what makes it a heavenly place for JC of course is really something special. Besides white Bose speakers for his iPod as a gift, Rhian Ramos never failed to make him happy.
Rhian is JC’s ‘special someone.’ During the hard times that JC went through while afloat waiting whether he’ll be renewing contracts or not, she came through and fill him with her immaculate presence (well at least, just to make it sound heavenly… 😉 ).
There are rumors that GMA-7 executive Wilma Galvante’s been raising her voice at JC De Vera in a close door meeting, even said to be threatening if he would decide to go over the fence.
It is also said that JC De Vera currently doesn’t have any projects just because he haven’t signed any contract yet, even with GMA Kapuso Network. Though, he stays cool about it.
JC’s manager Anabelle Rama also had discussions with Wilma Galvante, but whoever wins, JC is going to stay chilling with Anabelle. Peace men! 😉
