Manny Pacquiao’s Running For Congress In Sarangani On 2010 Elections

Manny Pacquiao’s political party, People’s Champ Movement formally filed a petition to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for their recognition of the poll body last May 4. Manny actually expressed his decision to run as a Congressman for the Sarangani province.

Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao was introduced by Michael Buffer on his last 2-round KO fight against Ricky Hatton, as “the man of Sarangani, Philippines.” Many fans and friends have somehow wondered then why Sarangani, when Pacquiao has always been introduced as from his root province, General Santos City.

Pacquiao already ran last 2007 also for Congress in General Santos City, but eventually lost to Darlene Antonio-Custodio by around 37,000 votes. However, last December 2007 after his win from “The Dream Match” against Oscar Dela Hoya, he actually announced his intentions of getting into politics again by 2010 as a hopeful Congressman of Sarangani.

Back then, many fans expressed delight when he lost the 2007 elections in General Santos City because of much expectation from our Pambansang Kamao, wanting Pacquiao to still fight on the ring. Even the Commission on Election chairman, Rene Sarmiento somehow don’t approve because Pacquiao right now does not just hold the No.1 Pound-for-Pound title but represents as an icon of unity among the Filipinos.

In someway, Manny Pacquiao into politics may instill something ‘divisive’ or tarnish the unifying effect he is resembling to our nation. But, who knows what the man can do and what he can’t do? Not unless, he’ll just let some strings pull him with his every move. Then, not so fast… Manny boy. 😉

Ara Mina’s Getting Ready For 2010 Elections

If nothing’s gonna ever go wrong, Ara Mina is at most 70% sure of running for Quezon City’s 2nd District councilor. Politics run in her blood somehow, not to mention she’s the daughter of Mhel Mathay.

At the moment, Ara Mina’s camp is considering which political party and who’s the Mayor they’ll be going to run with. She said it would be hard to pull it all together running independently.

Back with GMA7, Ara Mina is also doing a villain role of the remake of Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion’s hit movie ‘Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?’ Kris Bernal and Aljur Abrenica will play the lead roles.

Ara’s quite comfortable and positive about this project. Though about the 2010 elections, the 30% she’s hoping not to happen may or may not matter at all… if intentions are good and noble, why worry for 30% technicalities? Cheers to you Ara! 😉

Megan Young Eyes For Bb. Pilipinas 2010

Bb. Pilipinas 2009 glamourly ended recently and Megan Young’s StarStruck batchmate Rich Asuncion got the 1st Runner Up place. It’s not that Megan did not qualify for Bb. Pilipinas 2009, but she just had her work schedule full.

She’s doing well in portraying the role of Marcella in ‘I Love Betty La Fea’ teaming up with lead actors John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. Since her move from GMA’s talent pool to ABS-CBN’s, Megan started to shine.

Though her long-term goal is to be known as a fulfilled actress, Megan really dreams to be crowned Bb. Pilipinas. She actually vows to finally fulfill this next year at Bb. Pilipinas 2010. Megan will turn 20 next year and obviously age won’t stand on her way anymore of achieving her next feat. She’ll rearrange her work schedules, projects and appearances just to make way to meet her middle-term goal in life.

Megan Young is one hot morena, has a 5’8” stance and definitely has a class to stand out among the rest! We’ll be watching! Cheers! 😉
