The 14th Goma Cup: A Reunion is definitely a timely success not just for Richard Gomez, but for the rest of the celebrities. It was held from April 22 – 25 at Fairways and Bluewater Resort Golf and Country Club in Newcoast, Boracay. Goma’s ultimate goal is to unite the people in the showbiz industry by having fun and fostering camaraderie.
John Estrada spearheaded the celebrity golf pack as the overall champion of the 36-hole tournament and bagged home the P1.1 million-worth Omega Double Eagle Constellation watch as awarded during the culmination party held on the night of April 24. Douglas Quijano, a talent manager won at the same time a hefty P400,000-worth titanium Omega watch in a raffle when no one has achieved the “hole in one” feat.
This year, Goma Cup also included water sports specially for celebrities who do want to join but don’t play golf. They have them play the Aquavolley, Paddlesurf, Water Polo, Instawake, and Beach Frisbee. The celebrity contestants split up into four groups, which were headed by actors Jeremy Marquez, Bernard Palanca, Paolo Paraiso, and Ernie Lopez.
This event is sponsored by the Hawaiian Tropic, Rudy Project, Osim, Jagermeister, Jose Cuervo Tequilla, Ocean Minded, and Philosophy by Mikaela. If not for them, it won’t be that much fun to have these celebrities play. Cheers!
